Activate Line Item Display for GL Account | SAP FICO
We can activate LINE ITEM DISPLAY FOR GL ACCOUNT in SAP under two situations.
- If postings are not made into the GL Account : FS00
- if postings are already made into the GL : FAGL_ACTIVATE_IT
Here we will be looking into situation where we have posted several entries in the Gl Account and now want to activate the GL for line item Display and that we can achieve by using SAP TCode FAGL_ACTIVATE_IT.
STPE 1 :- TCode FS00 – Showing that the GL account is not ticked for Line Item Displayed
Step 2 :- TCode FS10N – Showing some entries have been made to this GL Account
Here we can see that few entries have been made in posting period “1” and “2”. And the GL has some balance in it.
Step 3 : TCode FBL3N – Showing that the Line Item Display is not available for this GL
When trying to check the line items in FBL3N we will get an Error saying “No line item display possible for account 553400”
Step 4 : TCode FAGL_ACTIVATION_IT – How can we activate the Line Item Display for the GL
Before executing this transaction we have make some mandatory settings with the GL
- block the GL using TCODE FSS0 at Company Code level for posting
- And then have to tick the checkbox “Line Item Display” under “Control” tab for the GL in TCode FSS0
Once that the GL is blocked for posting at Company Code level and is ticked for “line Item Display” we need following data to execute TCode FAGL_ACTIVATE_IT
- Company Code
- GL Account
- And all those documents which are already posted to this GL for which the line item display is to be activated. You can extract the Document from BSEG Table if you are not sure of the Documents.
And with all the three data we can execute it. And after execution the following screen will be displayed showing all the logs of activity done by the TCode.
And now we have successfully activated the Line Item Display for the GL account.
But we are not done yet. Remember we have put Block to our GL at Company Code Level. Now we have to remove the Block for allowing Postings to GL.
We can remove the Block from Tcode FSS0 and then we are done Now.
Step 5 : Confirming that the GL is now Activated for line item Display
To Confirm whether the Line Item Display have been activated for the Already posted items we have execute FBL3N for the GL and there we can see the old documents.
