How to submit website to Google Search engine?
This post will provide step by step guidance on how to submit an URL or submit your website to Google. Submitting your website to Google will help you measure your site’s Search traffic and performance, fix issues, and make your site shine in Google Search results.

Step 1: Search‘submit website to google’ or your query related to this topic in Google.
You will find many results related to your query. Try looking for something called “Submit URLs to Google | Search | Google Developers”. As shown in the below screen shot.
Next, click on the search result shown in the above screen shot (or go to this link). And you will land on Google’s GUIDE for Submitting your website through Google Console. Click on the link which says “register your site and app with Search Console“.
This will take you to Welcome to Google Search Console page, where you will find two options: Domain and URL prefix.
Step 2: At Google Search Console page, enter your URL /Domain name under Domain option.
If you want to submit your blog or website, select the Domain option. Just like I have entered the URL of my blog ,sdk101.com (as shown in below screen shot). Next click on CONTINUE.
Step 3: Next step is to “Verify domain ownership via DNS record”.
This page describes the steps on how you can verify your website/domain ownership. Below screen shot shows the details of how to verify the domain.
To verify the domain ownership you have to login to the account where you have hosted your website. In my case, it is Hostinger (yours can be from godaddy.com or namecheap.com or someother).
My website domain name is from BigRock and hosting is at Hostinger. And in this case I have added the DNS record(TXT record) at Hostinger site. It depends where the nameservers are pointing, there you should add the code.
Step 4: Copy the TXT record and use it to verify your domain ownership
Verify your domain by entering the TXT record (I entered the details in hostinger, where I have hosted my website). Below are few link to guide you on how to use this TXT record for verifying the domain ownership.
- Bigrock: Copy TXT Record into DNS Configuration
- GoDaddy: Verify your domain
- Hostinger: Copy TXT Record into DNS Configuration
- Namecheap: Verify your domain
My website domain name is from BigRock and hosting is at Hostinger. And in this case I have added the DNS record(TXT record) at Hostinger site. It depends where the nameservers are pointing, there you should add the code.
Step 5: After you have added the TXT record to your DNS Configuration, come back to the page discussed in step 4, and click on “VERIFY”.
If you get a Verified Successfully message, that means you are done with verification process on Google Search Console. Else, you have to try the verification process after few hours or after a couple of days. Normally, this process takes 2 to 3 hours.
I got below error during my domain ownership verification.
Failure reason:
We couldn’t find your verification token in your domain’s TXT records. You might need to wait a few minutes before Google sees your changes to the TXT records.
We found these DNS TXT records:
- v=spf1 include:spf.mx.hostinger.com include:relay.mailchannels.net ~all
And after roughly 3 hours, when I tried to Verify the Domain Ownership it was successful. And below screen showed up.
Data will start population in Google Search Console after a few days based on your site’s performance. So keep your fingers crossed.
